Come See What I Have Cookin'!

I decided to link up with Deanne over at First Grade and Fabulous.  I am sharing my SECRET recipe for a Broccoli Casserole that it makes the in laws hug you!  So...here goes...

I am going to share a recipe that I don't typically share....but I will share it with you guys just because I love ya!  This is the recipe that I swear got me accepted into my in-laws with no questions!  One bite of my casserole and they hugged me!!!

Ingredients:
1 16 oz bag of broccoli, cooked
16-24 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup
3 eggs
1 cup and a half of mayonnaise
2 tablespoons dried onions
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 can fried onions
1 large can of cashew nut halves <this is the secret ingredient that makes it so good!!>

Set the oven to 375 degrees.
While the broccoli is boiling:
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl (except 8-16 oz. of shredded cheese and the fried onions).  Mix well.

After draining the broccoli, combine the contents of the mixing bowl with the warm broccoli and pour it into a greased baking pan.  Bake the casserole at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.  After the 45 minutes, cover the casserole with cheese and fried onions and bake for an additional 10 minutes or so until the cheese is melted and the fried onions are toasted.

**if you can make the casserole ahead of time, refrigerate it for 24 hours before baking!  It gives the flavors time to melt together.
