Start School Off Right With Kevin Henkes

Today I am linking up with my favorite author and his wonderful books!!!

I love all of the books by Kevin Henkes...my students can relate to all of his characters and remember all of their details even on the last day of school.  Their favorite characters?  Wendell, Victor, Chrysanthemum, and of course, Lilly!

These books are being discounted on Amazon right now!!!  Go check them out!  Be sure to look at the Kindle prices!  They are AWESOME!!

All of these titles are already linked to Amazon...just click to go look at the prices!

 About an imaginary friend.

You have to love Lilly....there is a little bit of her in all of us!

A Caldecott Winner!!!  It is all about Owen's baby blanket!!  So sweet!

I have had some guests like Wendell before!!

This one comes with a CD for a listening center!!  Excellente!

Here is a packet from my friend Winter Bowers did that I use every year when I use the book about Sheila Rae.  It is phenomenal to use at the beginning of the year with 2nd graders.  I apologize that these are so blurry, but I snatched them off of TpT's thumbnails because Winter is off on her summer vacation!!!  There are several pages in the packet!  Below are some thumbnails of just a few.

I also found stuffed animals that students can read to during buddy reading!!!  How cute!

Look how cute Penny is!  There is also an Owen and Lilly doll!

And, if you want to make life easy, just grab this teacher's helper!  I have it and it is great!

More Fishing For Ideas

This is the longest fishing trip I've ever been on!!!

Have you been fishing yet?

Be on the lookout for lots of giveaways and even some patriotic activities!

Come and check out our blog!!

Visit us on Pinterest!

I hope you enjoyed yesterday's download.  It is now no longer free, but you can still find it on TpT for $2.50.  But, you can take 20% off of that!

I would REALLY love to have some input on Scoot Games.  What skills or strategies would you like to see in Scoot Games.  I  love the versatility of the format of the game.  You can use just about any subject or skill!!

Here are some other activities that you may want to check out that are on sale, too!

This is one of my BEST SELLERS and it is on sale for $2.40.  There are 32 different graphic organizers that help teach vocabulary.  I usually pull this up on my white board and we fill it in as a whole class as I model.  There, we do it together.  There is also time built in where we will do a portion at my reading table before I move them into a center.  So....you pretty much have a graphic organizer for every week because there will be some weeks that you want to repeat the strategy again for better understanding.

This is Skylar Skunk.  I LOVE this lesson because it integrates math and reading comprehension.  Character cards are used to simulate ordinal number stories.  These can get pretty high level and complex.  It is on sale for $2.60 after the 20% is take off.

And now, here is the new freebie for tonight can be used for:

Remember to come back tomorrow to see what the new freebie is!!!  Best of luck.  Now...go grab that freebie!!

When you get done, feel free to click on one the icons below and visit a different blog that is ready to entice you!
