Rory's Story Cubes Update

This week has been a challenging week for my dear hubby.  The company that he works for has merged with another company and a lot of their policies have changed.  So, this morning, I was a wonderful wife and took all of the kids out of the house to entertain them, giving him 4, yes 4, extra hours of sleep.  While we were out having fun, we had to stop by Walgreen's, one of our local drugstores.  I hope you have a Walgreen's near you because it is central to my post here!

While at Walgreen's picking up medicine, we wondered the store looking for sales and new things for the kids to pester me about buying.  So, you know we had to head to the toy isle where I had to hear about the new Angry Birds game and the 'new spinners' (aka poker chips) that my son found.  I hope I don't have a budding gambler on my hands!  I figured this was easy for me.  All I had to say was 'oh cool', 'that's great', and 'wow, I've never seen that before' and punctuated it with a few 'NO's' here and there.  We had made it to the end of the isle when I saw a set of Rory's Story Cubes hanging at the end of the isle.  If you are familiar with my last post about Rory's Story Cubes <this link will take you to amazon so that you can see what they look like> you will know that I had to order mine from Amazon and it took me a week to received them.  Now you can get them as soon as you can drive to your local Walgreens and can walk to the end of the toy isle!

I have to tell you that the story cubes were a great addition to my family and classroom.  The day we got them in the mail we broke them open and the kids started telling stories right away.  At school, I use them as picture prompts with the graphic organizers that I created.  The graphic organizers can be found in my TpT store.

Have a great time!   Jenn
