Word work and math centers

Hi there!  I'm Tessa from Tales from Outside the Classroom. Jenn invited me to come and share some of my ideas with all of you.  To start, I'd like to introduce myself to all of you and give you a bit of background in my educational adventures.  I spent time as a reading teacher working with groups of struggling readers to improve their reading instruction K-5.   Throughout this time I attended many conferences on differentiated instruction.  It improved my instruction and cemented my beliefs that I'd always held to be true: we really must teach each child and their needs.  I then became a DI coach.   Unfortunately, the grant that funded my position was taken back by the government and I was RIFed.  I then moved to a brand-new (like doors never been opened new) charter school in the area and became Team Leader for the primary grades.  My job is two-fold: instructional coach and middle level administration.  I love my job.  Each and every day brings new excitement and new challenges.  I love being support and assistance for my teachers and I love what I learn and can share from them just as much as I love what I can give to them.

Enough rambling about me!  You want the good stuff!  Because differentiation is what I think is essential for effective education, most of the materials I create and share are differentiated or give your students something meaningful to do to give you time to meet with various groups of students.  In short, I make lots of games!  Here are a few games that I've made and shared on my blog.

This is a St. Patrick's Day Magic E game.  Click on the picture to head to my TN store to download your free copy!

This one is a word family center that focuses on short vowels.  Click on the pictures to head to my blog to download your copy.

I also recently shared a few different St. Patrick's Day math games on my blog.  There's one that practices double digit subtraction without regrouping, one that practices addition or multiplication, and one that works on 120-grid number puzzles.  Click on any of those pictures to get your copy of those.

I hope I've been able to share a few new things with you.  Thanks for taking the time to make it through :)  If you like some of my items, feel free to follow my blog to get all of my newest updates!
